Netting Products
Netting can be used for a variety of applications. Netting products can be used for fishing, for decoration, for sports, as a barrier, or to secure cargo. Netting can be made from a variety of materials. However, the most commonly used material is nylon.
Fishing nets come in a variety of sizes. The most common material for fishing nets is monofilament nylon. It is the net material of choice due to its ability to virtually disappear in the water.
Decorative nets can be used indoors or outdoors. Nets used for interior decorating are often new and made of cotton. They can be purchased in a variety of sizes and colors to match your décor. Nets are primarily used in a nautical or beach styled décor. They are often accented with seashells, starfish, or other oceanic creatures or other nautically themed items.
Decorative nets used for outdoors are often knotless and made of polypropylene. Another choice for outdoor netting is knotted polyester. These nets may or may not feature a UV coating. They are often used as barriers on bridges or walkways in conjunction with large twine ropes.
Decorative nets can also be used like a hammock to hold items. A great example would be the nets that are used to hold stuffed animals or hats. These can easily be hung in a corner of a child’s room and is a convenient way to store and display toys.
Mosquito nets have gained popularity as an interior design element. Often bed canopies are created using mosquito net. They are sewn together to form a huge circle. The size of the circle depends on the size of the bed the net is intended to cover. About a foot down from the center of the net is a hoop that is securely attached in place. The remaining net is then draped over the bed.
Nets used in sports vary in size, color, and material. Nets used in sports may be used as barriers to prevent balls from wildly flying when struck. They may be used to create a division between opposing sides, as in tennis, racquetball, and volley ball. Nets may also be used to establish a goal area as in soccer and lacrosse. Nets used primarily for outdoor sports usually feature a UV coating to protect them from the sun.
Cargo nets are primarily used in trucks to secure cargo in place. They vary by size and design. Some even use material that when it is not in use it retracts to the original unstretched size. Some cargo nets have thicker mesh than others and may feature hooks, clasps, or buckles to hold them in place.
Netting products can usually be obtained from any hardware or sporting goods store. Nets vary in size, color, and shape. Nets are primarily made from nylon, but can also be made from a variety of other materials. Netting has a variety of uses; fishing, decoration, sports, as a barrier, or to assist in hauling cargo.
